Art In the Schools

The Art in the Schools program funds cross-curricular fine art projects which are collaborations between one or more teachers and one or more artists. It pays professional artists to work with teachers and students to bring an arts element to the curriculum. It brings together the creative potential of students, teachers and the unique energy of artists.

Details

This program is intended to provide students and their teachers with the opportunity to spend a minimum of 25 hours working closely with artists in order to enhance the students’ artistic perception and appreciation. Projects can include any of the fine arts disciplines (music, visual arts, theatre, cinema, dance, etc.). Ideally, at the end of the project there should be a “product”—something tangible and permanent which will live in the school.
